FAQ
Maintenance service questions
How often should a La Marzocco Linea Classic be serviced?
La Marzocco specifies preventive maintenance every 6 months. Alternate between the 6-month service and the 12-month service, which also replaces the boiler and steam safety valves. Busy cafes may benefit from more frequent checks.
What's the difference between the 6-month and 12-month service?
Both include the full inspection, cleaning and backflush, plus new group gaskets, diffuser screens and a steam valve rebuild. The 12-month service also checks the steam boiler contactor and pressurestat, and replaces the steam boiler vacuum breaker, pressure safety valve and steam wand anti-vacuum valve.
Are parts included in the price?
Yes. The parts in the preventive maintenance kit are included. If we find another part that needs replacing, we'll tell you and give you a price before doing any extra work.
Is this a maintenance plan or contract?
No. There's no contract or subscription. You book and pay for each maintenance visit when you need it, and we're happy to remind you when the next one is due.
How long will my machine be out of service?
Most visits take 1.5 to 5.5 hours depending on the service and group count (see the pricing table). Your machine can't be used during that time, so many customers book before opening or after closing.
Is there a travel charge?
Not within 30 miles of our shop. Beyond 30 miles, travel is $2.00 per mile, each way, for the miles past 30. Tolls and parking are charged when they apply. Our rate calculator shows the travel charge for your address.
